Concrete Silage Pit Concrete Silage Pit This set of images shows the construction of a silage pit. 2 man spent 2 days laying the Proform screed rail on a highly compacted base and on the 3rd day the 136 cubic metres of concrete was poured by the team in the photos. The customers’ specifications excluded both reinforcing mesh and transverse expansion joints as expansion joints / crack inducers were cut at a later date, after the concrete had cured sufficiently. The concrete area has heavy industrial traffic running over it constantly and the images at the end of the set show that proform stands the test of time in high use industrial areas. The original Proform and then the new Proform 100 was used on this job. The Proform Screed Rail provided the levels for the tamp to run on. Under floor heating pipes have been laid to supply background heating from a Wood Burner boiler.
